Dutch operator Nabuurs is today a huge all-round logistics player on the busy
Dutch market. This picture is showing an early DAF 95 drawbar combination.
The rig is obviously used for long distance international transport. The axle
configuration is typical for a Dutch combination of the eighties. The rig is of
course wearing the old livery with lots of blue. The picture dates back to
1989 and is made at the company premises in Haps. The current
headquarters is still at the same location.
A superb restored Mercedes with the well known short bonnet. The Merc is
hooked to a 3 axled insulated stainless steel roadtanker. The rig was taking
part of a German old timer run visiting Holland. The sturdy nose is equipped
with a sleeper cab. Dutch operator van Ruiten did run similar trucks in the
past, this could easily be one of it. Production in Europe stopped many
decades ago. Nevertheless production continued in Brazil for a very long time.
An ugly Dutch Scania Topsleeper used by a Dutch Fair attraction owner. The
Scania R113 could have been a former Weys unit though also other high
volume operators could have owned in the past. The rig is quite old, at least
20 years. The overall state is not that bad. Scania's are offering reliability even
when it's old. The trailer is a purpose built 5 axled unit The combination is
running with a special permit for it's length.
2 Dutch beauties on display at the 2012 edition of the well known Truckstar
festival. Both oldies are owned by Dutch operator Sipma. This still existing
operator is a true truck lover. Both Scania's are kept in an excellent running
condition. The LB76 and the L111 are both regular guests on old-timer
events in Holland.
